Film and television production companies are continually asked to render scenes ,that seem to be beyond the limits of their software and hardware. To complete ambitious 3D renderings with the required complexity, quality, and speed, almost all professional productions are rendered in multiple layers or passes and finished through compositing. Compositing is the art of combining multiple images into a unified final scene. Multi pass rendering and compositing allow for more efficient rendering, increased creative control, convincing integration with live-action footage, and rapid revisions of shots.

The craft of lighting design was practiced for many centuries way before the invention of computer graphics, in many fields such as theater, painting, photography, and cinematography. 3D artists have a great deal to learn from the traditions of earlier lighters.

To get a professional result in lighting you need to control every step of the lighting process, from choosing the appropriate type of lighting for each purpose, to test rendering each light and adjusting its controls and options. Which takes a lot of time!
Kenny and Brain did a really good job on there advertising piece! It looked vary real and the lighting was perfect. Tod also did a great job of displaying his advertising piece. I give you guys an  A +. Keep up the good work!
This month I've been in 3-D, wow its been quit a challenge! It's also been fun and made some pretty cool things. Which i have on my blog. I know now how to light objects and make them 3-d. I was really impressed with my other fellow class mate's work. They did an amazing job! Also never knew how long it took to render things out! It took me 2hrs to do the coral seen! Yeah you got to have patients.
